this piece of clothing was not created as an underwear. At the
beginning, according to the “legend”, Brazilian
model Rose de
Primo just had no bikini for a fashion shoot. So, she decided to
create a bikini the night before. But she didn't have enough fabrics
and just tied the pieces together with string. Thus the new design of
bikini appeared.
But
the first formal display of string bikini was in the US in 1974 and
the designer of this model was Glen Tortorich. The story tells us
that Mr. Tortorich with his wife, who was a model, saw a picture of
a Brazilian women, wearing string bikini, which was made of hemp. So,
probably, realizing that this item of swimwear may be very popular in
the fashion world, Tortorich contracted with fashion designer and
started to create string bikini which were made of different fabrics.
The other thing was a good promotion of string bikini and the
designer also succeeded in it, just concealing bikini with long fur
coats.
This
event attracted media and the sexy
bikini photos has become very
popular. Nowadays Hollywood and pop stars continue to promote this
style of clothing. Just look through different films, music videos
and other attributes of pop culture. All these advertise string
bikini and make it more popular. Because, of course, all the fans
want to be like their favorite “stars”.
Perhaps,
it doesn't matter why we like to wear string bikini, it has already
become an ordinary item of clothing in our wardrobes.
